Take me to the river bank
Take me to the river bank
And set me on fire
Don’t splash any water on me
To reduce my pain
Or keep me from burning
Laugh and dance while the flames reach the sky
Go ahead; throw more wood on the fire
Make sure there is nothing left
That resembles me
Let every chapter and every line of my story
Evaporate through the brilliance of this fire
As the flames start to diminish
Look for a seed that germinates
In the calm waters
One day it will bloom into a beautiful lotus flower
Then come sit with me again
And this time
I will set you on fire
Snow Fall
A snow flake falls from the sky
All decked out in its designer outfit
And star shaped crystal form
It says, I am different
Look at me closely
And you will see how
I am not matched by any other
As it falls to the ground
And others fall around it
Its uniqueness disappears
It forms a blanket of white
With all of the other unique forms
Even though it likes to be different
It is now of the collective
As time goes by,
The rays of the sun
Are welcomed by all who sat with the snow
The snow finally gives in and takes in the heat
It melts into a form unrecognizable from other crystals
It flows from hills into valleys
From streams into rivers
Rivers into the seas
And once again
It goes back to the creator womb
Deep in the ocean
As it swims inside the fish
It has forgotten that
One day, it was a unique crystal
Now, the thought of separation
Has no meaning
The cycle goes on
Until one day
It decides that
Sky, falling, crystal, melting, traveling, river, sea, mother
Are all the same
At that moment
Inside its belly
Grows a universe
That requires no ..ing!
